Long gone are the days when clocks where supposed to be round or with a pendulum. These days clocks have become more of a style statement. They serve more purposes than simply showing the time. New age watches define a person's taste.

Car clocks
Watch makers have taken a leap in making them. They have designed car timepieces that look like miniature cars with alarms and functions as a real car! How cool is that! They are made up of brass or metal or wood or transparent crystal with see through mechanics of the car and the watch or of glass.

The timepieces come in designs of some of the famous car engineering marvels of all times. There are watches which come in models of Volkswagen, Ferrari, Lamborghini, SUVs and retro racing cars.
The Limo and Ford designs of the first ever motorcars made are probably the most favoured vintage car-clock designs. These watches have a foldable hood that can be turned using a handle on the side of the car. The car is big enough to accommodate to tiny ceramic dolls as passengers.

Tyre Clocks
When we talk about cars, we have to talk about tyres and wheels upon which they run. Instead of their heavy showy colleagues, the cars, the tyre-clocks come in smaller size and light weight. They are essentially designed for bedsides and work desks. They also serve as snazzy paper weights. So their dual functionality attracts its patrons.

The steering wheel watch is another famous addition to this motor watches category. These types of watches make lovely collector's items, especially for those who love collecting miniatures.
Some timepieces have loads of creativity in them, such as the hands of the watches are represented by spanners and screw drivers. The numbers are distributed between the spokes of the steel wheel and glow in the night when tapped on its head.

These tyre-clocks have other features such as brake discs, brake pads, lug nuts and valve stem, just like a real life car or motorbike tyre would have. Though it is of question whether these have any use in the timepiece per se.

Clocks on cars
In earlier days watches used to be mounted on dash boards of the cars to see the time. These days we have digital-clocks. Previously there used to be winding type analogue clocks.
